It all began in Yannick Durand’s studio. Then there were courses by Marco Chioini and workshops organized by the Société des calligraphes. I’d started on the long path to learning writing styles.
Ever since I was a little child in a country village, colours have always been a part of my life. So it’s been a delight to take watercolour classes by Lorna Mulligan at the Visual Arts Centre. Lorna taught me to get to grips with paper, colours, water and brushes. With Lorna I also studied mixed media: watercolour, ink, acrylic and gesso.
There, painting and calligraphy converge. It was the spark that set me free! And now, here’s my first solo exhibition, Les Couleurs pour le dire, where letters draw and colours speak.
