Livre d’artiste  – Artist’s book

Activité gratuite – No fees

Les visiteurs sont invités à créer leur propre livre d’artiste : reliure simple, collage, et rudiments de calligraphie, avec des images et textes en lien avec la musique. Tout le matériel est fourni. Il y aura aussi des démonstrations de calligraphie sur place.

Visitors are invited to create their own artist’s book : simple binding, collage and calligraphy basics, with images and texts related to music. All materials are supplied. There will also be calligraphy demonstrations.

Nous avons besoin de votre participation en grand nombre pour conclure le processus de vote.

Join us on September 15th at 7:30 pm for our next general meeting at the Monkland Community Center (4410, avenue West Hill, Montréal H4B 2S9, Metro Villa-Maria, bus 162, 103). There are three door prizes to be won: A book, Sheila Waters at Eighty – A Retrospective, a poster signed by Luca Barcellona, and a gift certificate for $25 that you can apply to any local or international workshop.  A fun calligraphic activity is also planned! We need your participation in large numbers to be able to conclude our voting process.

Activité calligraphique

Dans les années 1960 en Oregon, Lloyd Reynolds s’est inspiré des haikus pour créer des bandelettes sur lesquelles on calligraphie un souhait, qu’on expose ensuite aux éléments pendant trois mois. La météo donnera une patine unique aux bandelettes. Nous reprenons cette expérience le 15 septembre, et pourrons « cueillir » nos vœux à la rencontre de novembre.

Papier, encre et cordelettes sont fournies; apportez votre plume ou autre outil.

Calligraphic Activity

In the 1960s in Oregon, Lloyd Reynolds took inspiration from haikus, and created strips of paper on which you write a wish in calligraphy, then hang it outside for three months. The weather then finishes the work, giving it a unique patina. We will reprise this fun activity on September 15, and will be able to “harvest » our wishes at the meeting in November.

Paper, ink and string are supplied; bring your own pen or other tool.
