Learn the basics of English Roundhand, better known as Copperplate with lowercase letters. Discover the tools including the flexible tip, basic techniques, posture and other tips related to this style.

Biography of Sachas Benard
Sachas Bénard is the owner of Sachas Calligraphie and Métaph’Art. He has been a graphic designer and calligrapher since 1998. He is also a member and Board Member of the Société des calligraphes de Montréal.
A true enthusiast of the art of beautiful writing, Sachas is interested in all forms of calligraphy and handmade lettering and shares his knowledge with his students by offering personalized calligraphy lessons in groups or privately.
Material required
30 white sheets (Dollarama’s Studio brand printer paper)
Walnut ink (economical, does not stain, but requires more frequent soaking and may smudge, thicker fine lines) or Sumi-E ink (much more expensive, but requires less dipping and she doesn’t feather. It is permanent).
Inkwells or small pots heavy and stable enough to avoid damage
1 straight pen holder
1 fine tip (Hunt 101, Hunt 22b, Nikko G or other G tips)
1 ruler, 1 eraser, 1 HB pencil and paper clips.
Wet wipes and paper towels.
Notes: If applicable, participants must observe the health standards by the College. Paid parking ($10) at Collège Rosemont, lunch recommended (few restaurants in the area)
