Procreate is the most powerful and intuitive digital illustration app available for iPad. It’s packed with features that calligraphers and artists love, and it opens the door to tremendous creative exploration.

In this workshop, you will learn everything you need to know to get started in Procreate. We will review:

  • Brushes, including how to import and use custom brushes
  • How to set up a canvas, including custom options
  • How to work with all of the drawing tools and settings, including new features from the latest 5X update of the application
  • A sample blackletter calligraphy project from my popular flourished majuscule series, showing you how to use and apply all of the tools discussed in the class

Bring your iPad and follow along or join us to learn what this amazing application is capable of − questions and interaction will be highly encouraged in this class. Whether you are completely new to Procreate, have started using it and have some questions, or want to learn some professional tips and tricks, join us and begin making your own calligraphy masterpieces using this awesome tool.

About the professor

Tamer Ghoneim is a professional calligraphy artist and instructor, specializing in blackletter/gothic calligraphy styles, including modern interpretations and abstracts designs. Based in Houston, Texas, his goal is to encourage people of all ages and skill levels to learn the rewarding art of blackletter calligraphy. The Société des calligraphes de Montréal is happy to provide this free opportunity for anyone to learn from Tamer.
